Henry & Des Moines Counties hold training Featured

From October 24 to 26, 2017 Henry and Des Moines Counties hosted a three day rescue task force hostage event sponsored by Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management. The event was held at the former Women’s Prison and Mental Health Buildings in Mt Pleasant, IA. The event had around 30 persons attending the event from several agencies including Henry County Sheriff's Office, Des Moines County Sheriff's Office, New London Police, Mt Pleasant Police, Burlington Police, Richland Police, New London Fire, Burlington Fire, and Muscatine Fire. The course not only focused on the active shooter part of an event but setting safe passage for EMS to enter and exit the building with victims.
